Fundraise to support young refugees

Help young refugees stay in education, and build hopeful futures - by turning your time, talents, and community into life‑changing support.

Whether you are planning a one‑off event or just wondering what you could do, your fundraising can make a real difference.

Why your fundraising matters

REUK is big enough to have impact, and small enough that a single fundraiser can genuinely move the needle. Your effort will be felt.

Young refugees in the UK are rebuilding their lives while navigating a new language, a new education system and, often, deep uncertainty about the future.

By fundraising for REUK, you help to provide:

  • mentoring and educational support so young people can stay in school or college;

  • expert advice to help them access the courses and funding they need;

  • safe, consistent relationships that build confidence and hope.

You do not need to be a seasoned fundraiser to get involved. Choose something that feels natural for you.

Whatever you choose, we will cheer you on and help you make the most of it.

Simple ways to fundraise

Do something sponsored and invite friends and family to support you.

  • Run a 10k, half‑marathon or marathon

  • Walk or hike a favourite route

  • Cycle to work for a week or month

  • Go sugar‑free or screen‑free for a set time

Take on a challenge

Use your home, workplace, church, school, or community space.

  • Host a coffee morning, brunch or bake sale

  • Organise a quiz night or games tournament

  • Put on a concert, arts event or film night

  • Run a charity yoga class or fitness session

Bring people together

Turn an occasion into an opportunity to give.

  • Ask for donations instead of birthday or wedding gifts

  • Fundraise in memory of someone who cared about refugees or education

  • Celebrate a milestone such as a graduation, retirement or new job

Mark a special moment

How we will support you

When you fundraise for REUK, we can:

  • help you shape your idea into a realistic, enjoyable plan;

  • share information and stories (used safely and respectfully) to explain why your fundraiser matters

  • provide resources such as templates, example wording and sponsorship forms

  • advise on how to talk about refugees in a way that is accurate, hopeful and dignifying

If there is something specific you need, just let us know.

Set up an online fundraising page

The easiest way to begin is to set up an online fundraising page.

  1. Visit JustGiving
    Go to JustGiving and search for “Refugee Education UK”.

  2. Create your page
    Follow the prompts to set up your page in support of REUK.

  3. Personalise it
    Add a photo and a short message about why you are fundraising for young refugees. People are more likely to give when they understand why it matters to you.

  4. Share it
    Send your page to friends, family, colleagues and your wider community. Small gifts quickly add up, and every contribution helps.

Prefer to talk it through?

If you have an idea, a question, or would simply like to explore what might work best, we would love to hear from you.

We will get back to you and help you take the next step.

If you would rather donate directly instead of fundraising:

  • Give online through our donation page.

  • Send a cheque made payable to Refugee Education UK

  • Make a bank transfer: email hello@reuk.org and we will share our bank details.
