Vision for Refugee Children's Education in the UK
There is no overarching policy framework for the integration of refugee learners into the UK education system, and there are key evidence gaps in what works best in education for refugee children. School leaders and teachers want to help, but lack the needed training and support. Good practice is often hidden and the expertise of young refugees is often not considered in policy making.
We believe things can be different.
During Refugee Week 2025, REUK gathered together politicians, policy-makers and education leaders in the Houses of Parliament to launch our Vision for Refugee Children's Education in the UK.
This document draws together more than a decade of REUK's research and frontline experience. It has been designed to enable key decision makers to rapidly grasp the critical, often low-cost, changes that will bring us closer to a world where all refugee children and young people are able to build hopeful futures through education.

Research and policy
Our Research and Policy programme contributes to change by carrying out high quality, rigorous and ethical research into refugee education in the UK and internationally. We conduct research in partnership with young people and use the findings to bring about change in our own programmes and to positively influence refugee education policy and practice in the UK and around the world.
