Going the distance for Refugee Education

We’ve had some incredible fundraisers supporting REUK this month, and we just want to give them a huge shoutout for all their amazing efforts!

Our amazing trustee Mark took on an incredible challenge - cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats, covering all 960 miles of the journey!

After nearly 50 years of cycling (and even recovering from an ACL injury earlier this year), Mark set out with one big goal: to raise vital funds so that young refugees in the UK can access and thrive in education - and he smashed it!!

We also had our very own ultra-marathon heroes!!

A huge shoutout to James, Owen, Pete, Dave, Andrea, and our very own Dan, who took on the incredible challenge of running a 50km ultra-marathon - all to raise vital funds for REUK!

Their determination, teamwork, and generosity were truly inspiring. Running 50km is no small feat (in fact, it’s huge! 😅), and we’re so grateful they chose to go the distance for young refugees.

Our fundraisers this month managed to raise together a whopping £5,548, which is the equivalent of 111 hours of 1:1 educational mentoring sessions and 55 young people provided with expert advice and guidance to overcome barriers and access the education they need, helping more displaced young people access, thrive, and succeed in education - and build brighter, hope-filled futures.
