Refugee Education Pathway
In June 2026, the UK Government announced the creation of a new safe and legal route that will allow refugee students to resettle in the UK through higher education.
This will be the UK's first dedicated education pathway, bringing together refugee resettlement and access to university study.
Universities will soon be able to play a direct role in sponsoring, welcoming, and supporting academically talented refugee students through this new government-endorsed pathway.
Refugee Education UK is working with the Government, UNHCR, universities and partners to establish this new pathway, with the aim of enabling the first students to apply in Autumn 2026 and begin their studies in September 2027.
